Foreword, when is a homeland not a homeland?

Me, in need of a proofreader:

Bush's use of the term "homeland" might, as I suggested before, have
more resonance with contemporary readers. 

Eulenspiegel:

Not this one.  If Bush is trying to distance himself from charges of
fascism because of his uprooting of the Bill of Rights, He has chosen an
unfortunate term.

Me:

Thanks for pointing out that the sentence (above) makes no sense. I
meant of course that P.'s use of "homeland" (twice) in the "fascistic
disposition" passage might have more resonance with contemporary readers
who are familiar with Bush's (as opposed to Goebbels') use of the term.
