Ottos fragt,

> I've never smoked opium, what's it like?

First of all, it smells wonderful -- it has the fragrance that you really
want it to have, a decadent velvet, the touch of overripe grapes. It's
effects are mild -- it makes you feel very, very *languid.* It goes well
with wine, the two combining to produce a very agreeable laziness of body
and mind. Not to mention fostering the weird desire to write purple prose
for yellow books, or perhaps to use words like "decadent," "languid" and
"agreeable."

--Quail, whose experience is limited to a two-week stretch of constant opium
smoking in 1986 while following the Dead.
