Greetings from Chris

Yesterday I saw Chris, a pynchon-l favorite who unsubscribed
about 18 months ago.  She had just gotten back from a visit to Canada, where
she managed to hook up with Vaska, another participant from years ago
(who might still be a subscriber).  Chris said she had a great time with
Vaska and asked me to send her regards to her friends at pynchon-l.  She
asked me how things were here--I told her that things were pretty bad.  I
said
that there had been some excellent insights into the 1984 Foreword, but that
it felt like 99% of the talk consisted of the same infighting that has been
going on for years.
