Now, without having yet seen The Matrix Reloaded
(which is in line after Nowhere in Africa and, er,
Down with Love ...), the gnosticism angle has been a
topic 'round these parts for some time. "reality" as
illusion, a "real" reality "behind" it, yr demiurge,
what have you. But my take on the franchise is that,
ultimately, its appeal lies in precisely the fact
that, no matter how screwy/scary the "real" world
"behind" the "illusory" one is, it's gotta be more
interesting than fliiping burgers ...
