You appear to agree that some companies and
individuals profit from war. If I had said that
defense contractors were the cause of war, you might
have a point. But I follow Pynchon in tracing out
relationships between those who make the decision to
go to war and those who profit from the war, most
clearly spelled out, in his fiction at least, in GR.
Certainly the lobbying efforts of defense and
aerospace contractors help to shape US foreign policy,
then those same companies benefit by moving in and
making money from activities related to the
accomplishment of US foreign policy goals. This is
clear to observers all over the world.
