Well, you're wrong about that, but don't let me pop
your bubble. I've had direct experience in business
-- raised millions of dollars in venture capital
myself, and have served as a corporate officer in the
two companies that were thus funded -- plus ongoing
input from the investment banker and corporate tax
manager I mentioned earlier. I note that you still
haven't explained why you have any special knowledge
in this field, apart from reading the newspapers
you've mentioned.

You're right about a sensible investment banker not
making an investment decision based on a dog-and-pony
show by corporate executives. Good bankers do their
own research or commission it from others, to find out
if the company is what it says it is. I've been hired
to do this sort of work often in the past with regard
to SF Bay Area and Silicon Valley companies -- apply
investigative journalism techniques to find out what
the companies aren't telling their potential
investors. I've helped some bankers spare themselves
some costly mistakes.

You really ought to stop spending so much time with
that bogus "Doug Millistein" persona you've helped to
create. It makes it difficult, if not impossible, to
discuss anything with me when you're shadow boxing
with that persona instead.

Pynchon has a clear view of the role that corporations
play in War -- focus on that instead of on me, why
not? Or the Foreword. Trying new stuff is always a
bit challenging, I realize, but I think you'll find
that if you stop the ad hominem and try to engage in
an honest discussion for a change, you just might
learn something and enjoy it more.
