Remains true that you've shifted the question
altogether, from Pynchon's Foreword referring to 9-11
(which most reasonable readers see) to _1984_ itself,
a different topic from what was under discussion
before.  It's a good example of the sort of thing you
do in these discussions all the time -- you run out of
gas, unable to make your point here, so you slide over
there. Slippery, very slippery.
