I tend to think the international politics is all a bit of a smoke and
mirrors show, with hidden agendas (such as France's long-standing trade and
arms deals with Saddam) providing the motivation. I'm inclined to focus on
the human suffering involved as more important than a bunch of old guys in
suits swanning about and getting their photos taken. From my perspective,
sending U.S., British, Danish and Australian troops to Iraq was no more
"grave" than the recent warring in Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Kashmir,
Chechnya, Kosovo, Bosnia ... Graver still in my opinion are the atrocities
committed by tyrants like Mugabe, Saddam, the Taliban, Milosevic etc.
