Why does P set up these oppositions?

As others have noted, his attempt to (construct oppositions?) situate
Orwell around the term "fascism" is problematic.

In Spain (36-37) Orwell realizes a difference between real and phony
antifascism.

Well before W.W.II (36, 37?) he also considers the official left and the
labor party potentially, if not already, fascist.

P says Orwell thought of himself as a member of the dissident Left.
