DeLillo in Dublin

Went to hear Don Delillo read from Cosmopolis and take some questions
last night. Most questions centred around earlier works. Shortest answer
of the night: "What was Underworld about?" Answer "Conflict".

Also struck by the paralells between DeLillo and JG Ballard. Presidents
being shot, large white american cars, surgical scars on bodies and the
general air of dystopia. When DeLillo spoke of these things last night
he sounded like a cross between Crash and the Atrocity Exhibition.
