One of those short timeless bursts happens in the street action just before 
DL swoops down and rescues Frenzy, and then they have their post-coitus 
coffe...  The violence, closeness to death and the real experience of raw 
power was stimulating for them both.  Another of these short bursts was what 
brought Weed into his position as movement leader, ending with his murder
