Ever read Pynchon's Sloth essay?
What does Thomas R. Pynchon do all day? Work?
Maybe, being an Irish Catholic/New England Pyncheon and all, he's
feeling a bit guilty about blurbing for a living? I don't know. But his
last novel features a narrator, the Rev Cherrycoke, who tells tales to
entertain the kids because he's not much use in the Age Of Enlightenment
and he needs a roof over his head.
I've perused this novel and come up with an idea. I'm not going to sit
down and write it all out and publish it. I don't do that. But I'm
convinced it's worth looking into.
