That's not been done here. And, it's not only inadequate, it's a waste
of time.
Why bother?
But you can't very well talk about repression and ignore those being
repressed and those doing the repressing. And in P's novels, the
repressed and the repressors define one another, they work together ...
are dancing partners ... gambling partners ... business partners ...
sidekicks ... S&M partners turing and turning on the daisy chain.
You mentioned Pinkertons.
Look it up.
Pinkerton, Allan. 1819-1884. Scottish-born American detective. His
agency was notorious for breaking strikes and disrupting labor efforts
to unionize.
