"...just the leading edge of the feeling that all is Connected.."

Reading too many posts too fazzzt--distracted.

Seeing as how I'll be watching the A's and Redsox game here in a few,
AND what a game yesterday, and Pedro!!! tonight--
what connection could there be between the intellectual and cultural
level of Boston and the lack of titles for a few years?

I mean, I am an aficianado. I was watching in 1986, and I still wonder if
a hole appeared in Buckner's glove. I watched the original Pudge hit
one out and gesture it fair in 1976. I abhor the corporate culture of the
NY Yankees, though 1978 was a year to remember, and Lyle said it
great in "Bronx Zoo." Lynn the last rookieofyear "and" MVP before Suzuki
in 2001. I personally suffered the Yanks many years, being a fan of
the Orioles under Earl Weaver. And yeah, let's not talk about the Pirates,
too much-- or the current clown of an owner in Balt.

I watched last half of the Curse of the Bambino on HBO, jeeez, the
people leaving their houses to walk around dazed, that 1986 game.
Yaz flying out in 1967, was it? Ted Williams' cryogenically frozen here in
Arizona, and the Letterman joke:

'No, I personally like Martha Stewart. Why, I turn on the tv
the other day, and she's politely telling me, how to defrost Ted Williams'
head.

I just wonder what if any connection being in the Boston area has
on the Redsox, since baseball is--pretty much a blue-collar game?
                                               though
one that college people love too, the symmetry of it, I think, the relaxation
of it, the infinite varieties of plays and ways to score--the easily kept
stats,
the binary nature of it.

And I can't resist this, from talking with friend Jack yesterday.

Cubs and Bosox make the world series. NOW, one jinx will be broken,
definitely, infinitely. The series is close. 3 wins each. They go to the
7th game, and it's tied. Still tied in the 9th inning.

                                                                         And
then the world ends.

LOL, Perry,
"Samsa."
