Note "My Soul" is in italics in the first stanza, while the second stanza
has "My Self" in italics, and so on through the stanzas.  This makes the
poem a conversation, point/counterpoint, between the self and the soul
(which can be interpreted in many ways: ego v. id; ego/id v. archetype;
physical brain v. ethereal soul; self-conscious mind v. master within; etc.)

Especially considering a play between self and soul.  This could also be
interpreted as the soul masturbating the self out of self-consciousness into
a jism of gestalt/universal consciousness.  Or the self trying to get a
"rise" out of the soul... 

> stair - for ascent to heaven
Speaking if "rises" er, is that risers? I'll step out now as my mind is
still working on the whole soul/self sodomy sacristic...
