Maybe you're right, but if we're talking about VL, your opinion isn't
supported by the text. 



Drugs, buying, selling, addiction, ratting people out or turning,
falling in "love" while under the influence ( Takeshi's marriage, the
Hobbes family, Zoyd and Frenesi's wedding)  falling away from one
grandiose idea and into another (Hobbes, Marx, Brecht, Marcuse,
Reaganomics), LSD infected memories (Prairie's birth //s Sasha's birth
where getting shot at by Pinkertons is far more important event in the
political family's history) Hector's abuse of the law, the funding of
BV's evil plans ... it's another daisy chain.
