I don't think this is correct. Where are homosexual overtones present in
this and the earlier chapters?

I don't think that DL is trying to seduce Prairie. Prairie sees DL in the
mirror "standing too close" and watching her in "a weirdly familiar,
defensive way, as if they were about to continue a conversation." (99.10) To
me, it's as if DL is mesmerised by a reflection of *Frenesi's* face in the
mirror, though I agree that DL's behaviour in this scene does suggest
something of her sexual infatuation with Frenesi, in retrospect at least. My
point was, however, that we don't find out about DL's lesbian tendencies
until later in the book.

Prairie had seen "old snapshots" (100.9) of DL and Frenesi, which is why she
can see Frenesi's features in her own face and why she recognises DL.
