DL tells Prairie that Takeshi are partners and that if she presents her
Karmic IOU to Takeshi he will honor it. Prairie has only one wish: a
wish to find her mother.
DL isn't sure. Frenesi might be easy to find if she has surface. Frenesi
might not be too easy to find if she has surfaced and she is evading BV.
Above or Below, DL simply can't know, Takeshi's genius.
Notice that Prairie never asks DL for Frenesi's herstory.
It's like Prairie has one wish; her mother.
And Prairie has an IOU, not three wishes.
Can he help me find my mom?
That's not the same as, Can you tell me about my Mom and the revolution
you guys tried to have and how you loved her and how BV took her away
from you and my dad.
But DL wants to pop her. She wants to continue the conversation with
Prairie as if Prairie were some unfinished business she needs to finish
with Frenesi. What an asshole. So she wants to exchange stories. What
else? You tell me your story and I'll tell you mine. As one astute
reader noted, this is like little kids exploring sex. And that's it.
Right on the cherry top.
I agree with Robert, these characters all need to tell their version of
his/her story and make themselves look like the Virgin. Jesus, poor
Frenesi is sick in bed, nearly dead, and all her old man can do for her
is tell her his own sad story and how her mother expected him to die for
the great big union in the sky and be like his father-in-law and balh
balh blah ??
These people are all full of shit.
Oh, the story back then was that everyone was screwing everyone else and
I was just confused, or ignorant, or innocent, or whatever.
Talk about ignoring the text and distorting it. Weaver and Nightingale
simply tear out the pages they don't like. Like the pages when Zoyd
turns, Sasha turns, Hub turns, DL turns, and so on.
Page 25 Zoyd hammers down his bullshit version of history:
"situation back then
relationships tangled up
jealousy, revenge,
political
And we learn that Zoyd is lying. We don't have to take Hector's word
against his. We can read the text. and there it is.
Hector tells his bullshit story too. And we learn that Hector is lying
about his wife and his family and about being healthy and happy and
finding religion.
