The story Prairie wants to hear is the story about why Frenesi left her,
where she is now. But DL won't tell that story. Prairie will have to ask
Takeshi, or find out for herself. DL knows exactly what the girl wants to
know, and she's aware that she's keeping it from her, and that she will
continue to keep it from her, just like Zoyd and Sasha have done. She's
aware that she's betraying Prairie in this moment of truth, withholding
precisely that which Prairie yearns to know, and she regrets it. Prairie
realises it too.

The story DL will tell is her own story.
