I suppose I should really defer to the superior wisdom of jbor (and others)
when it comes to deciding what's actually in the text (not least because
I've torn out all the pages in my copy). I can't help it: I love that
"certainly".
The exchange on 104 sees Prairie assert herself, independently of Isaiah.
Her conversation with DL has confirmed her in her desire to find Frenesi.
She's moving on, nothing else to be said. Whether or not her "relationship"
with a "coke-snorting boyfriend" is or isn't "still solid" is open to
question; what can't be denied, surely, is that going back to Vineland is no
option for Prairie.
