While we await your second and third expansion I was wondering if you'd
precis how this related to the VL discussion, since, as I have already
pointed out, the branch of the left family portrayed in the book consists,
more often than not, of the idealists, the left of the left in Orwell's
terms. You have so far mentioned pro-capitalist trade unions and now are
giving us good information on the CP at the height of their strength
through to their exclusion from the mainstream. The latter is background to
P's tales concerning Sasha and Hub, but the tales themselves, in each of
the three eras are not of the mainstream.
Are you excluding them from the 'Left-Wing' as you define it?
