Hell, I read the post, I've read the book, and I've
already forgotten it all.  Why I can keep rereading
books, watching movies over and over, et al. 
Repetition = death drive?  Maybe just old age, is all.
 Took me, for example, six times watching The Sting to
remeber how it ended  ...

... but this will no doubt be something to keep in
mind if/when we ever get a new Pynchon novel.  The
archives here are full of spoiler alerts ca. 1997 ...
