Terrance and Pynchonoid are both assholes.
One tries to be entertaining, the other tries to speak the truth. Neither are very good at it.

Maybe P is shooting for another entry in the OED?
There are bush vets in Northern California. You can look them up in the
telephone book.
Seriously, I'll admit that Bush Vet, meaning Vietnam Vet and/or a
Person who lives far and away from the maddening crowd is more likely
what P had in mind. No matter. It's really not important.
In fact, it almost makes more sense that RC doesn't really have a job,
he simply provides the names and runs chores.
What matters is what readings various meanings add up to.
To my reading, RC changes his name for business purposes, because of
his work.
I think that's also why he names his kids with those silly 60's names.
He is, after all, in business with Wheeler. Wheeler has a daughter named
Prairie and she has a boy friend, who was named by Wheeler's friends,
after a passage in the bible.
I guess the names are all cool ... whatever ... but what was in their
minds during the act of Naming?

Actually I'm just playing along with this shit. This RC debate is all
pretty insignificant as far as my reading of the Work goes.
