I'd rather say: the children work, their parents don't. (Zoyd jumps through
windows for a living, Moonpie and RC are happy with the money coming out of
her children). I think maybe P. is putting in contrast the hippy attitude
towards work and the "new generation" having to work because of their
potheaded elders. Priaire's attitude towards Zoyd is both ironic and
maternal, she does not take Zoyd seriously (can you take your father
seriously seeing him jumping outside a window in a dress on TV? It's
embarrasing). I'm afraid the children are the grown-ups.
