I wouldn't say that's ridiculous. Hell, I read recently about a Born
Again
teetotaling paranoid pothead who has a habit of smoking pot and purging
himself of guilt by accusing people who dare to read books other than
the bible of betraying him and their savior, Jesus Christ.
Readers of books, like Pale Fire for example, are accused of being
devil
supporters and evil doing fascists.
The Born Again teetotlaing Pothead accuses these
learned "infidels" of preaching blasphemous concepts, distorted,
debased, fragmented... reading and interpretations.
These charges are particularly ironic, given the fact that no Born
Again has distorted the Bible more thoroughly and incoherently than the
teetotlaing Pothead himself.
While some have given him the benefit of the doubt, suggesting that he
is engaging in a consciously calculated strategy, others assert that
his remarks are
characteristic of the classic Born Again teetotlaing pothead messianic
prophet; the faithful are rebuked for deserting the ways of God and
falling into the ways of men.
