Well, I suppose.  But what if we use Macbeth as a comparison example?

Shakespeare creates him as a "very bad guy."  And most readers/audience
members would agree that he is a "very bad guy."  But if he is a tragic
figure, ought he not possess *some* goodness? (Note that I use Macbeth in
this example rather than, say, a Hamlet or Othello, where the "goodness"
factor is a bit more apparent in these).

Just piping in on this point, is all.
