Pynchon novels are not unfriendly toward sex, just the kinds of sex the
characters are into. Each sexual act is profane.
It's there from the start, when, for example, Lardass plows Little
Buttercup under the TS Eliot Sun in the Hemmingway's Rain (Wasteland,
Sterility, Death) and sex machines, pornographies of .... and we can
talk about every sexual encounter in VL and every single one will be
profane in some way.
But, I've said all this before ... so work with my annie and annie had a
baby.
