You are entitled to your opinion about P's political viewpoints.

And, since neither Nixon nor Ray Gun  is  actually a character in this
novel how did you arrive at this opinion? I mean the novel explicitly
states that it doesn't matter who is in office. Yes, that's what it
says. Read the book. BV, the fascist character in this novel climbs up
the DOJ ladder during LBJ's Great Society. You see, this is classic
Pynchon. Irony. Like that Great Flintstone hit: Bedrock, Twist, Twist.
FEMA, don't forget, was made in Georgia. Just kidding. But come on guys.
It's a pretty shitty fairy tale. It ain't Babbit or Death Of Hippie.
