"The War changed everything. The deal was no strikes for the duration."

For those unfamiliar with U.S. Labor history I recommend this
Introduction:

WHO BUILT AMERICA?

No strikes.

IN GR, some paranoids think that FDR has been put in power by THEM.

What about Sasha?

This line reads like that one out of the 1984 Introduction we discussed
for about 6 months or so.

"Lot of us thought it was some last desperate capitalist maneuver, a way
to get the Nation mobilized under a Leader, no different than Hitler or
Stalin. But at the same time, so many of us really loved FDR. I got so
distracted I quit working for a while even though there were these
incredible jobs everywhere, just 'cause I had to try to think it
through. You can imagine how much help I got." VL.77

Sasha quits working and thinks it through. No one helps her. There are
all these great jobs around and she doesn't want one. Her job skills
(organizing skills) are no longer in demand. Kinda like what happens to
Frenesi's "sleeping with judge" job. And the mill-workers. And lots of
other workers in this novel.

But she could take a job with Rosie. Work is sweeeeet!

Why not?

Frenesi wants to know about the other women.

"What about the other women?" 77

What about her sisters?

The War changed everything and Sasha was left alone with no work to do.

Her sisters are not interested in her politics. She's no longer the
super labor lady she was cause things have changed. Still, she has that
drive to get up there and belt something out to the crowd.

She's gonna sing.

She's not a very skilled singer, got those legs and eyes, but she's
gonna work as a musician and then apply her skills at script reading.
