Yea well where I come from it means those folks whose lives end with the 
pavement, and for whom the smell of petrol is preferable to that of cow 
muck - unless you live somewhere like Cambridge where the contrast is town 
and gown, not that I ever heard the uni bods referred to as 'gownies'.
