Do they have to be at the heart of things to be as I said - politically active?
For most people activism isn't full throttle full time, it's periods of
intensity intermingled with periods where other priorities dominate. Punctuated
revolution. The ones for whom it's an intense life committment - they're the
ones with the capacity for Leadership and/or Control. 

Would you like to set a degree of fervour above which you will accept that they
were politically active. Otherwise perhaps you would like to return to the point
