Conservative?
C'mon, I don't mean to be snide, but is John Galt buried and dead?
Out here in the West I suppose it's just easier to live or try to observe
Libertarian values. There is no good government. There are just
some that are less harmful than others, and the republic that's
evolved in the US has some good points and some horribly repressive
laws that almost noone admits are terrible, because they are so
accustomed to eating the crumbs off government tables. There are
seemingly almost accidentally, good leaders
in government;
but you all are missing a HUGE point in Pynchon's motifs and themes
if you don't see him as Libertarian with some reservations
and against basically ALL beauracracies as tending to kill off individual
freedoms if not the practicioners of the same.
