I don't exactly disagree with this myself, though that
usually turns out to be a big deal nonetheless here.
Good to see that yr hippies and yr radicals areen't
being elided, at least. Reminds me ...

"2. There is a much greater tendency toward consensus
on the right. Despite the lefts’ said interest in
cooperatives, the truth of the matter is that those on
the right cooperate much better with one another. This
has always been the case. The right is dominated by a
corporate, “team player” attitude that helps it build
consensus. The right is comprised of joiners. The
left, on the other hand, is made up of those who got
kicked out of the lodge. The left is splintered into
factions and is proud of it. The left is quick to
bring down someone within its ranks. Leftist
intellectuals love to sit around and discuss the flaws
and hypocrisies of someone like filmmaker Michael
Moore. This, of course, is outrageous. Why can’t we
all just agree that Michael Moore is doing very good
work for very good causes and just leave it at that?
Hillary Clinton is another favorite target. Yes, sure,
I enjoyed very much reading Maureen Dowd’s slamming of
Hillary Clinton’s new book. But this is essentially
the problem. The right would never slam their Hillary
Clinton (whoever that is). The left needs to realize
that Hillary Clinton is not the enemy. Michael Moore
is not the problem."

Going to see Al Franken for free at the library
tonight ... and I also see this (below) as vaguely
analogous to what I've been reading for some time
(whether rightly or wrongly) as Marcuse's mid/latye
sixties reconsideration of his, I don't know, politics
of libidinous liberation (oh, Terrance ...) ...
