_Skylarking_ was the closest thing to perfect pensive-pop since John 
Lennon's self-admitted 'failures' "And your bird can sing" and that other 
song written at the same moment (by Lennon) whose tune stays glued to my 
brain but whose title escapes me right now.

Andy Partridge may whine, and he may have had an insurmountable problem of 
stagefright that lead him invariably and automatically to vomit on tour from 
fear, therefore reducing almost to none his subsequent tour attempts, and 
thereby increasing the gem-polishing in the studio, that lead up to the 
summit reached by _Skylarking_, and "Dear God."
