What in the world is a "drug commune?" Would that be where
drugs are the currency of exchange, say a lid for a side of
beef or a couple of hits of acid for a crate of eggs? No such
thing is either said or implied by the text.
At any rate, Zoyd's disciplined and shamanistic visiting of
altered states is beyond reproach and is necessary for him to
locate and stay on the natch.
