There a great cover of The Hollies' "Carrie-Anne" on
the b-side of the CF EP.  Recorded there as "L'homme
au traineau."  French covers of Anglophone songs often
substitute lyrics that scan, rather than translate the
original ones.  April March (a.k.a. Spumco animator
Elinor Blake), on the other hand, has recorded some
marvellous translations of 60s French pop songs into,
well, American, e.g., France Gall's "Laisser tomber
les filles" (S. Gainsbourg" as "Chick Habit"--"Hang up
your chick habit, hang it up, daddy-o" ...
