Ghost in the Shell? OK, I should see this. The reviews do all sort of point
to, or explicitly state, the influence on the Matrix. The plot synopsis
still smacks of Neuromancer, Johnny Mnemonic, and even Do Androids Dream of
Electric Sheep? Implanted memories? Meat Puppets? Hot cyborg girls?
Howzabout throwing in a junkie dolphin, anarchist vandal hackers, simstim
decks, and - as long as we're doing a pastiche- replicated animals.
Nevertheless, I'm enough of a geek to go get this anyway and probably really
enjoy it. I've never been a big fan of the Anime though, it all seems
vaguely pornographic and I prefer my porn with real people with real parts.
Peace,
Joe
P.S. In Dick's "Do Androids...", Pris was a bit of a female asskicker too.
And of course, a replicant.
