Huh?  Moral/ethical relativism everywhere here, but
not literary/aesthetic?  Whether or not Vineland is
"good" or "bad" is beside the point, that's the
blindest, least productive, indeed, most aggressively
counterproductive alley we can rush headlong into
here.  We've previously, and more to the point, more
productively, whatever, been squabbling largely about
that "but ...," so far as I can tell.  That's the
important bit.  Why was Vineland written as it was
written when it was written, with what possible
motivations, and to what potential effects?  And to
answer "cash infusion" only begs the question.  Not
that I have an answer, but ... see y'all Monday ...
