well for the last few months my daughter and I have been enjoying
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket: the trials and
tribulations of the luckless Baudelaire orphans and their efforts
to escape the clutches of evil Count Olaf.
it's very funny and quite gripping; tonight we reached Chapter Nine
of Book The Sixth: "The Ersatz Elevator". couldn't resist sharing
this with you ...

' "I don't see how," Klaus said, his eyes looking worried
behind his glasses. "There's only one copy of the catalog,
and it's pretty complicated. Each of the items is called
a lot, and the catalog lists each lot with a description
and a guess at what the highest bid may be. I've read up
to Lot #49, which is a valuable postage stamp."
"Well, Gunther can't hide the Quagmires in a postage
stamp," Violet said. "You can skip that lot." '

If you know what happens at the In Auction, please don't spoil it
for us.
