We cannot say for sure that he's been only doing "reseach" at Boeing, but I
think it's at least safe to say that he did *not quit* his Boeing-job for
patriotic reasons.
He's been working for Boeing from "February 2, 1960, to September 13, 1962."

Is it a coincidence that this September 1962 was the month the first SS-4
MRBMs arrived at Cuba and the Cuban Missile Crisis began?
