TPPM (9): Judging from the title, "Nearer My Couch"

Not having read the essay that I remember,
this title, be it full, or abbreviated,
reminds me of "Nearer, my God, to Thee".

I wonder, is this essay about:
 - Television, and couch potatoes.
 - A bed, all manner of sexuality.
 - The psychiatrist's couch?
