Les Irresistables

... and speaking of both Belle & Sebastian and French
pop, is anyon here familiar with a later-60s band
called Les Irresistables?  They might actually have
been English, from what little I can glean from the
Internet, but ... but I've a few 45s by them (none of
which are, alas, at hand), bubblegummy, sunshiny pop,
especially a frenetically happy-to-be-here b-side
called "Universe of Love" which I've spun from time to
time (it had people dancing at dawn in the park across
the street during a twenty-four hour dance party,
even--squad cars drove by, policemen shaking their
heads ...) which I've long plotted to unleash
virus-like amongst Belle & Sebastian fans as an
unreleased B&S outtake.  I think it'd work ...
