OK, I get Jess's idea of "One Big Union" (76), and of how "Frenesi heard
stories of those prewar times" (77). In the later quote Frenesi is critical
of both 24fps and PR3 for taking in "all-comers" and not having "100% no
fooling around solidarity", but she also recognises (correctly, I think)
that that sort of logic leads directly to "fuckin' fascism" (235). So, in
reality, she seems to be rejecting her grandparents' idea of total
allegiance to the cause as well. I wonder if she's attempting to justify her
own faithlessness, or absolve herself (she is the one who is the "hypocrite
and double agent and summertime outlaw" after all), via this recourse to a
type of fatalism. Thanks Terrance.
