The Muslim Brotherhood and allied efforts are a far more 
fruitful area of study for violence against soft targets and 
government repression/infiltration than SDS.  Algeria comes to mind.

With respect to assimilation, there is a Tribe in Southern 
California which the Anglos have called the Gabrieleno for 
quite a while.  Their actual name in English is 
"Tongva."  Their language disappeared in the 1930's 
successfully repressed by the White school system.  They have 
no Federal recognition.  They are currently recreating their 
language.   They are assimilated yet have a separate existence 
without need for funny clothing or other outward signs.
