A lot of things motivate Frenesi. Paul noted that some of the VL
characters are mouthpieces, wise beyond their years, stuffed full with
ideas that stumble in and over the kid's from time to time. 

I think B's argument that Frenesi wants to put the gun next to the
camera to  test the validity of her theory may have legs but they are
V-Legs----they run off a cliff,  or rather, Weed does,  when he is
murdered with the gun Frenesi brings into the house. A gun she
consciously and intentionally took into the house and put into the hands
of man pushed to the edge, and she did a hell of a lot of the shoving,
who shot another man. 

THE BOYZ!  

Frenesi has been listening to a lot of hip fem shit at Berkeley.  Brock
puts it on Weed, the professors, fuzzy-brained pot heads, who we herd
our children off to. Frenesi grew up in a house of pain. Under the eye.
Fights and more fights. She fell in love with love at the movies and on
the tube and she wanted  to get closer to source of that love, that
romantic love, the movie script she wrote about her mom and her dad
meeting and falling in love, and she wanted to get close to the power
that came down on her family, that Beast, that Light, the power, the
young gaffer, tapped into on earth, she got close enough to the source
in that hotel, no, non Brock but the storm ....
