Re-reading my original message I see that I did not express myself
clearly.  When I wrote "most of the hippies had no clue who Martin Luther
King was." I meant that they had no idea how he related to their lives. 
Of course he was a recognizable public figure.  But he was an ancient 39
years old in 1968 and HE WORE A SUIT!  I'm telling you the truth that
there was a lot more anguish among the hippies when Jimi Hendrix and
Janis Joplin died within a month of each other in 1970 than when MLK died
in 1968.
