What's interesting is the passage itself.  As is
pretty much every goddam thing in Them Thar Pynchonian
Texts.  What's become completely UNinteresting,
however, by virtue of being annoyingly commonplace,
are these bizarre not-quite-aspersions of Robert's. 
Speaking of "plausible deniability" ... as I find
myself (strangely alone in) periodically reiterating
here, 'twas a valiant effort on R-Bert's part during
the recent Mason & Dixon reading, but ...

Me, I don't have the time to catalogue all the
"interesting" moments in which interesting passages
are passed over by whoever the current Angel of Death
might be (note, e.g., that I never did get 'round to
posting on the Yuroks, woges, Tsorrek, et al., now
THERE'S a glaring oversight, but, hey, I tend
eventually to orbit back to these things), but for
Chrissakes, this is coming from someone who, for
example, couldn't be bothered to look up (or just
plain recognize) a simple mythological reference ...

No, even I don't bother to mentrion EVERYTHING, so ...
so, as Toby rightly points out, that's what we're all
here for, that's presumably the interest, the reward,
hell, even the fun of it.  Let's face it, no one can
be exhaustive here.  If anywhere, but esp. here. 
Exhausting is another matter entirely.  Sheesh ...
