I think the claim that Ditzah has a "car fetish" is pushing it, especially
considering the details of Rachel's car fetish. The passage quoted merely
indicates that in 1984, Ditzah owns (still owns?) a T-Bird. It doesn't
indicate that she has a sexual attachment to it, as Rachel had to her car.

There are ways to acquire clothing and equipment other than buying new.
Funds need not come from family money. Members of the counterculture had
other means and methods, for sure. And
an organization called the Death to the Pig Nihilist Film Kollective
wouldn't necessarily be averse to giving away or abandoning its equipment as
it faced its
doom. It's not, after all, Enron.
