In the wider context (68-70) of Frenesi beating herself up over abandoning
Prairie (which is what I find far less forgivable than her sexual
infatuation and relationship with Brock, and which is what *she* regrets
most) and Flash consoling her by trying to convince her that she had no
choice in the matter (she knows she did, however), Frenesi's comment is
self-deprecating and self-pitying as much as it is an expression of contempt
for Brock. Brock is a "wacko" for being so obsessed and getting so upset
over *her*, seems to be at least part of her meaning.
And the point remains that Brock really was cut up when Frenesi left him.
Just like Zoyd was, and Zoyd tries to be just as controlling and reacts as
badly as Brock does when she leaves him (56-61). In fact, it's Zoyd who
drives her back to Brock. At the time, she saw Brock as preferable to Zoyd.
