How about Moby Dick, with Malignd as Ahab and Doug as
the whale?
Call me davemarc
I'd prefer the Classic Comics version
to the movie. Either way, the whale prevails. And in
this post-holiday period of foie gras reflection, I'm
certainly feeling overstuffed.
Speaking of which, this was making the rounds the
other day:
What is the difference betwen Rush Limbaugh and the
Hindenberg? One is a flaming Nazi gasbag and the other
is just a blimp.
Meanwhile, back to Vineland: underground newspapers
reflecting both of the major 60s trends (the anti-War
and Civil Rights Movement), namely the Berkeley Barb
and The Oracle (from SF, circulated in some cities
where they were read by high schoolers who also
attended concerts by acid rock bands on tour and away
from their San Francisco home base. We were trying, at
least, in some ways similar to the way the PR3 kids
were trying to break free of their cultural conditioning.
